HDF (high-density fibreboard) – wood fiberboard, characterized by high hardness and increased density. Smooth on both sides, no processing required.
|
PLAYWOOD is a composite material, glued together from intersecting thin layers of wood. Dry-resistant plywood is used for laser cutting, which is produced on the basis of urea-formaldehyde resin (dry-resistant weld) for use in dry conditions. |
WarMate is an uncoated, matte paperboard bleached on both sides. It is produced from mechanical pulp. It owes its low weight and easy processing to high fluffing.

Properly prepared HDF board is suitable for painting with many types of paints and varnishes. An interesting solution is to apply a primer such as we use for painting miniatures. Then the insert may be painted with a brush, roller or airbrush as shown in the picture. Please note that HDF does not like water, so if you apply too much or too thin paint, the material may swell. Therefore, it is suggested to use a spray primer before applying paint. |
Plywood is best treated with stain and then protected with varnish or oil. Plywood after the first layer of paint can be slightly rough. We suggest to smooth the surface with fine sandpaper P300-400. In the next step, apply a second layer of stain and protect with previously mentioned varnish or oil. Alternatively, you can use acrylic paint or chalk paint for plywood. Such painting is best carried out with a roller or by spraying. |
WarMate can be painted with anything that can be used on paper. However, it should be remembered that you do not want to exaggerate the amount of thin paint as this can adversely affect the cardboard structure of the material.
